To Re-elect Cathy Connolly for the Wyoming
House of Representatives - District 13
Iím Cathy Connolly, a candidate for the Wyoming House of Representatives, District 13, located in Laramie. I am seeking re-election for a fifth two-year term in the House and hope I can count on your support on August 16 (primary day) and the general election on November 8, 2016. Check out this website for information on issues, news and polling places; and make sure to check back often for updates and new information.
I am a progressive Democrat who is proud to live in our community and state and to have served in the legislature during the 2008-16 sessions. I have worked hard pursuing policies that enhance opportunities for our residents, maintain stewardship of our natural resources, and secure our individual and collective health and well-being. I am committed to the hard work, research, and collaboration necessary to see these ideals met.
I will continue to support efforts to fully adopt Medicaid expansion, a move that would help 20,000 Wyomingites and bring hundreds of thousands of federal dollars into the state. I am passionate about high quality education and have worked to pass measures to increase our high school graduation rate and expand early childhood education opportunities.
I have advocated for measures to increase public safety while decreasing costs associated with the criminal justice system. I will continue to fight for increased anti-discrimination protections for all our citizens and to establish economic diversity with government transparency.
While we are moving into tough economic times, I bring experience and commitment to the table. I'll fight for the people of Laramie and the state, putting our needs for better government at the center of my decision making. I believe that the legislature should be prioritizing people and the programs that serve us rather than constructing new buildings and increasing existing savings. I do believe that it's "raining" and we must act, and I pledge to do the work to pass policies for the benefit of our citizens today as well as generations to come. That means investing in education, economic development, and our communities, as well as responsible savings.
I would love to hear your thoughts on the issues of importance to our community and state. Please contact me at: firstname.lastname@example.org, on my Facebook page (Representative Cathy Connolly) or call me at 307-399-0482.
